The unique patented Novosail cleaning and finishing system for Sail, Ropes, Covers and Foulweather gear has been launched in the UK.
Developed after extensive research and development and perfected over the last two years in Palma de Mallorca on all types of yachts and motor boats, the Novosail method is the first sail cleaning process that not only cleans yacht sails, but also recoats the sails with new protective coatings.
Traditional cleaning methods rely heavily on the use of power (jet) washers and/or hand scrubbing, running the high risk of damaging the sail fabric and stripping the sail of protective coatings. Likewise adding aftermarket coatings does not necessarily ensure that it is evenly spread over the whole surface.
Sails cleaned by Novosail are treated with the care that they require, using our patented HS9000 machine, which cleans sails horizontally. The process whilst not damaging the sail ensures that the sails are effectively cleaned and then re-coated with protective coatings, such as mildew protection and UV filters.
Prevention is better than the cure, and good maintenance is the key to prolonging the performance of equipment and by using the Novosail system, the life expectancy of sails can be extended up to 40% saving money, time and effort in the long term.
The same process is also repeated when cleaning canvas covers (of all types), removing dirt, stains, even bird droppings, returning the covers freshly washed and protected again. Ropes also benefit from the system, returning clean, supple and ready to continue their working life.
