Gwynt Y Mor Wind Farm geotechnical site investigation

Notice is hereby given that from the 28th july 2008 for up to eight weeks, Fugro Seacore Limited working for npower will be carrying out a geotechnical site investigation in the Gwynt Y Mor offshore wind farm area (co-ordinates detailed below). The exact start and finish dates are dependent on the prevailing weather conditions.

The survey will involve seabed sampling at up to 220 locations from the fugro commander and will require that the vessel remains stationary for periods of approximately one hour at a time.
Survey operations will be carried out on a 24 hour basis by the Fugro Commander.

It is requested that all vessels operating in the area of survey, keep their distance and pass at minimum speed in order to minimise their wash. During the survey, the vessel will display the prescribed lights and signals for underwater operations and will be monitoring vhf channels 16 and 12.
