"I was little more than a boy when my father gave in to my protracted pleading and bought me the most important toy of my life, a small boat just 5.70 metres long. This was the beginning of an activity that began as a game and went onto become one of Italian industry's most extraordinary stories, leading to the creation of the Ferretti Group". That's how Norberto Ferretti, President of the Ferretti Group, describes the birth of a vision that has led him to confront the constant challenges that have been the driving force behind 40 years of success, a period shaped by his total personal commitment and involvement.

The Ferretti story began in 1968, when brothers Alessandro and Norberto Ferretti established their boatyard. It's an experience crowned by the achievement of extraordinary goals, created with passion, farsightedness and professionalism. These values have led the Ferretti Group to become what is today an international icon of Italian luxury. In 2008 Ferretti celebrates the 40th anniversary of its foundation with a packed calendar of events involving clients, the media, yards and local communities on an international scale.

Along with a number of special projects for the second part of the year, 2008 sees two main events.
The first, which took place in April, was “Privilege Days”, an event dedicated to owners of Ferretti yachts. On this occasion it took place at a symbolic location for the yard, Cattolica, the production site for the most prestigious models in the Ferretti Yachts fleet. On these special “Privilege Days” the Marina Nuova at Cattolica hosted the entire Ferretti Yachts, Mochi Craft and Custom Line fleets, all completely open to visit for clients and prospects, offering them two unique, unforgettable days to experience the excellence that is Ferretti. The climax of the event was an exclusive dinner party at the
Horses Riviera Resort.

The highlight of this anniversary year was a prestigious, internationally significant event:nFerretti celebrated its 40th anniversary with a unique performance, a private concert at The Teatro alla Scala in Milan, dedicated to all those who have experienced, shared and contributed to the company’s success.
