Liverpool Marina welcomes aboard a new General Manager
Dave Murry brings 22 years of experience in the marine industry to lead Liverpool's centre of excellence for boating

Liverpool Marina, a centre of excellence for boating, has appointed Liverpool born Dave Murray as General Manager. Dave brings with him more than 22 years experience in the maritime industry and will be directly responsible for developing the marina and its facilities.
Dave started his career in the automotive industry before going on to take the leap into sailing, buying his first boat in 1986. Famous for lifting the 100 foot 19th Century Baltic trading ship ‘The Glaciere' from the sea bed of Liverpool bay, Dave restored it back to its former glory transforming it into a sailing and diving school for underprivileged youths across the North West. Board director, David Beard commented: "We are delighted to welcome Dave aboard the team as general manager. His wealth of experience and knowledge is invaluable and will help to further grow the business." Dave is very active in the industry and also runs the registered charity tall ship, Greater Manchester Challenge Ocean Youth Trust North West which is berthed at Liverpool Marina. Sponsored by the Marina, he is taking part in the Liverpool to Norway Tall Ships Race in July 2008.
"He has sailed over 38,000 miles which is no mean feat and testament to his passion and dedication to the industry." David added. Liverpool Marina is home to the Liverpool Yacht Club, Royal Yachting Association Sailing School and the PADI Diving Club and boasts over 450 fully serviced pontoon berths suitable for all types of boats and vessels up to 30 metres long.
With over 25 staff Liverpool Marina is based less than a mile from the heart of the vibrant and historic city of Liverpool, within easy walking distance of the Albert Docks and new Arena.
