Southampton International Boat Show 2008
SailTime doubles the number of bases in a year
SailTime has doubled its number of UK bases since SBS 2007. There are now 12 SailTime bases operating around the UK, Welsh and Irish coastlines, and membership with SailTime has never been more popular.

Visitors to Southampton Berth 270/271 will be able to experience the Bénéteau Oceanis 40, one of many exhilarating sail boats that SailTime members can choose as part of the SailTime membership scheme.
With talk about an impending economic recession looming, there has never been a better time for current boat owners and sailing enthusiasts to think seriously about affordable sailing, and SailTime offers its members a range of boats from the Bénéteau Oceanis 323 to the Bénéteau Oceanis 40.
Managing Director of SailTime, Jonathan Duffy, says: "Fractional lifestyle is the way forward. People no longer want to own an expensive item such as a yacht or a plane completely. SailTime allows its members to sail a new, fully maintained yacht at least six weeks each year with a monthly membership fee that covers the marina fees, maintenance, insurance and running costs. No longer are people faced with escalating costs or the added burden of maintenance charges or unplanned repair bills, but can sail worry free at a known and affordable price. In this uncertain financial climate, it provides a perfect solution to sailing and keeping within a manageable budget."
The SailTime monthly membership fee - usually less than the marina fees alone - covers all maintenance, insurance, servicing and berthing fees for the boat.
SailTime offers the concept of fractional sailing to everyone, from novices to experienced sailors, giving them the regular use of a well maintained yacht at a fraction of the cost of owning one independently. Members belong to a specific base, and have regular access to a designated SailTime yacht moored there, with typical costs starting from £499 per month including vat.
The yachts are available all year round with the exception of a two-week maintenance period in winter when they are taken out of the water. Each boat is shared by a maximum of seven members and one owner-member. Even if you're not a budding Ellen MacArthur, SailTime can offer training to get you to the required standard to become a member.
SailTime currently has bases at Falmouth, Gosport, Hamble, Ipswich and Lymington and this year has opened at Chichester, Medway, Plymouth, Poole, Pwllheli, Southampton and Ireland.
