Essex Boatyards, the UK's leading boat sales centre and authorised dealer of Fairline, Arvor, Glastron and Four Winns will unveil two new sports cruisers at this year's PSP Southampton Boat Show, held on 12th - 21st September 2008.
 
The company will debut the new flagship of the Glastron cruiser series, the exceptional GS289 for the first time in the UK as well as the latest addition to the Four Winns "Sport Luxury" range, the sophisticated SL242. Following Essex Boatyards recent appointment as official distributor of the superb Four Winns range the company will also showcase an impressive selection of sports boats and cruisers including H200 Frenzy, V258, V318 and H210. Completing the line-up will be several Glastron models including the popular MX175 bowrider, the all-new GT185, and GT249, which range from 17ft to 29ft, and five boats from Arvor, the 215, 215as, 230as, 250as and 280as.
 
The Glastron GS289
 The new Glastron GS289, the latest class leading addition to the popular GS sports cruiser range, is set to take the UK market by storm. Building upon the extremely successful GS279, the GS289 features the same superb craftsmanship, modern design, luxuriously appointed interior and excellent on-water performance that distinguishes the entire Glastron GS series.
 
At 8.79m (28'10"), the GS289 is Glastron's largest and most opulent twin-cabin cruiser to date, with 4 berths it can accommodate up to 4 passengers. Designed to take customers to a new level of comfort and sophistication, the GS289 offers a unique combination of elegance, power, fantastic handling and a host of standard equipment at a competitive yet affordable price.
 
Featuring a beautifully appointed and spacious interior with a large forward cabin complete with leatherette/fabric upholstery and wood accents as well as a hanging clothes locker. The well thought-out galley boasts the latest fixtures and fittings including a microwave oven, 12/110v refrigerator, coffee maker, electric stove and sink and water system. Owners also benefit from an aft cabin and an ample heads compartment with stainless steel transom shower and electric china head.
 
On deck the GS289 has a sizeable cockpit area with a wet bar and sink, refrigerator, water system, removable stern seat and portside lounge seat.  The dash equipment includes 12v adaptor AM/FM/CD Sirrus satellite stereo with stainless speaker covers and MP3 remote jack, depth sounder gauges, switches for bilge pump, forward and aft blower and navigation and anchor lights.  There is also ample space to move around the deck with a walk through curved full glass windshield. Additional features include a moulded swim platform with stainless steel telescopic three step boarding ladder, colour coordinated sunbrella Bimini and ski tow.

Four Winns SL242 sports cruiser
 Inspired by its hugely successful predecessor, the SL262, Four Winns has expanded its outstanding range of innovative sports boats and cruisers with the introduction of the new Four Winns SL242, a luxury yet sporty high specification hybrid. Combining a range of amenities found on the Four Winns deck, sport and ski boat models, the SL242 is ideal for those seeking a fantastic family luxury sports boat designed for entertaining and enjoyable days on the water as well as watersport enthusiasts looking for a great ski/wakeboard boat.
 
Featuring the renowned Four Winns Stable-Vee® SC hull, the high performance SL242 cruiser offers a smooth yet exhilarating ride that planes quickly and easily with minimal bow rise and excellent cornering. It comes with a choice of several engine options from Volvo Penta and Mercruiser and can easily reach speeds of over 40mph, depending on the engine size.
 
The stylish 7.44m (24'5") Four Winns SL242 is built to the highest standards, combining quality craftsmanship and strikingly clean lines with an exceptional range of standard equipment. The SL242 also features a choice of vibrant and innovative graphics and comes in a selection of colours from classic navy to true red, allowing owners to choose their preferred colour scheme.
 
Designed to accommodate up to 12 passengers, the well thought-out layout and spacious cockpit is perfect for entertaining as well as relaxing. These areas boast plentiful seating including u-shaped stern seating with backrests, hinged bow seating, a port seat with flip up bolster and an aft seat which converts to a sun lounge as well as a walk through windshield to make it easier to move around onboard.
 
At the helm, the dash features a comprehensive range of equipment including a depth sounder with shallow water alarm, water and air temperature, storage for small electronics, an iPod®/MP3 port, Sirrus satellite stereo system with 6 month subscription, Sony speakers and Sony AM/FM/CD player, enabling owners to enjoy all their favourite tunes onboard. The dash is also finished with a mahogany or blonde wood trim.
 
For serious sports enthusiasts, the Four Winns SL242 model comes complete with ample stowage including aft deck storage designed for skis and wakeboards, stainless steel ski tow and a Bimini top with stainless steel hardware as well as an extended, skid resistant aft swim platform and aft shower.
